Job Description

We are looking for an Engineer to support our client’s front office team responsible for the trading of FX products. It is a hands-on role that require someone who enjoys the challenges and rewards of working in a dynamic support team with a constantly changing task list, being personable and having the ability to build good working relationships with users at varying levels of seniority is a key skill.

As a member of the support team, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring the incoming requests and issues and driving them forward to resolution
  • Working with the business and IT management to solve challenging situations in event of major outages
  • Coordinating with other groups in the bank such as ITS where resolutions require restarts of services
  • Assisting on regular basis with weekend releases and when suitably experienced join into the on-call rotation.
  • Working on multiple competing items simultaneously and manage your time across these items to ensure momentum is maintained


Main requirements:

Support Experience:

  • Min 3 years of experience supporting complex position keeping and risk management systems in a Front Office environment
  • Ability to juggle multiple requests at the same time from demanding users
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts succinctly to a non-technical audience
  • Proficiency FX products (Spot, Forwards, SWAPS, NDF’s, Orders)
  • Proficiency with PnL and Risk Management concepts

Technical experience:

  • Support of systems running on Windows Server environment (Windows services; IIS; Scheduled Tasks)
  • Support of systems running on a UNIX environment; general UNIX navigation; ability to read and understand UNIX shell / Perl scripts.
  • Support of SQL database based systems. Good SQL query skills; ability to read Stored Procured; understanding of basic Query Optimisation
  • Experience supporting large batch systems (typically Control M)
  • Familiarity with monitoring systems like ITRS Geneos

Product experience:

  • Proficiency with FX products
  • Proficiency with VaR; Stressed VaR and similar Risk Management concepts
  • Proficiency with P&L calculation
  • Proficiency with trade Life cycle

The salary range for this role is US$85,000 – US$150,000
