Peer Mentor Supervisor - CenterPoint Recovery Center for Men


Position Overview:

This is a full time position and does not necessarily have regular working hours. The person in this position may be expected to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, or other times as necessary to assist with specific programs or consumers. This position is primarily responsible for Peer Mentor supervision and coordinating and scheduling Peer Mentor activities. This position, like all FRBH positions, may also be responsible for a variety of tasks that are nonetheless essential under the heading of “Miscellaneous Duties”. Major Tasks / Responsibilities

Peer Mentor Supervision

Screens, interviews, and/or otherwise participates in the selection of Peer Mentors in conjunction with the Management Team.

Provides direct supervision to all Peer Mentors.

Ensures that Peer Mentors are instructed in ethical and professional skills for interacting with consumers.

Ensures that all Peer Mentors are instructed in in all job-relevant corporate policies, procedures, protocols, and practices.

Ensures that all Peer Mentor actions or omissions that are ethically or professionally questionable are immediately addressed and reported to his supervisor.

Advises the Site Administrator when additional training is needed for the Peer Mentors.

Peer Mentor Activities Coordination, Scheduling and Administration

Develops and maintains schedules for Peer Mentor classes and other duties for the hours the Site is open.

Serves as Peer Mentor coverage, when necessary or appropriate.

Ensures that professional staff are provided with Peer Mentor support services, when necessary.

Maintains an inventory of supplies necessary for the operation of the Site’s Peer Mentor activities.

Ensures that all record keeping by the Peer Mentors is accurate and timely.

Ensures that Peer Mentors treat consumers with appropriate respect and compassion.


Meets productivity standards as assigned.

Attends periodic meetings and/or trainings as assigned.

Completes paperwork, time sheets, etc., in an accurate and timely manner.

Attends and participates in program staff meetings as assigned.

Performs other duties or responsibilities as needed or assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Must have nine (9) months experience as a Peer Mentor.

High school diploma, or equivalent, preferred.

Must be cognizant of his function as a role model, have knowledge of social roles, and be appropriate in manner and appearance.

Must have good problem solving skills, demonstrate good judgment, and have the ability to act appropriately and judiciously in a crisis situation.

Must pass law enforcement and any other required background checks.

Must meet any program-specific health status requirements (e.g. negative for TB).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.15 – $15.00 per hour
